Corby v Rothwell walking footbalĺ friendly.

Hi
Been a quite year mostly due to a bad left knee injury I got back in early Feb, playing in a session at Desborough Leisure Centre. I dropped my left shoulder & my right leg decided to go the other way, my knee snapped & well that was it. Had an x ray next day as badly swollen, no fracture, but evidance of Arthritis in the knee. This followed being told in January I had it in both hips.
Anyway Doc's advice when able keep playing and he is right.
The main reason I started this blog was to highlight what you can achieve, when you thought you could not.
In the earliest of blogs I wrote about players who thought they would never play again and they have and are still doing today.
There are a core of us who play at both Desborough and Corby sessions, the age group is early 50's up to 76, yes 76, a triple heart by pass survivor, amazing.
Any way I have been back playing for several weeks now and all seems ok.
The video shows footage of the 1st half of the latest friendly between Corby Town fc WF & Rothwell
No 2nd half footage as the camera man (ME) was playing.
It was another tough game, both sides taking time to settle, with Corby taking a look at some new recruits. Rothwell raced into a 3 goal lead, largely due to Corby mistakes. The manager will have something to say next training session. Corby managed to pull 2 back before half time, where some changes were made.
Rothwell added another 2, with 1 reply for Corby,      3-5 final score.
This followed a previous game at Rothwell a few weeks ago 0-0
Both teams are warming up for the next torno 31st July 2022, at Steel Park, the home ground of CTFC.
As hard as we try we still have not got the hang of "WALKING"
That's all for now
