An insight to walking football

Saturday, October 9, 2021

 Hi good morning

I had the pleasure of once again, playing at Moulton Town's, over 65's Walking Football Tournament.

Once again a great day, well organised and a very good example of how WF should be played.

Unfortunately due to playing, I was unable to get any photo's or video's.

I played for a Kettering, Desbor', Corby (me), combination.

The tournament was split into 2 groups.

In our group we finished 2nd.

This was achieved by 3 ni nil draws & a 3-0 win.

This took us into the secondary final, where we faced one of Moultons team.

It was a close encounter, but Moulton came stronger in the last 5 or 6 minutes, winning the game.

So defeat in the final. But... we got there undefeated & without conceding a goal.

Concidering half the squad were not used to playing with each other, we'll take that as a plus.

The primary final was played between 2 teams we drew with in the group stage, so a plus there to.

Thanks to Tim Webb for getting us together & assuming team manager.

Thanks to Moulton Town for the invite.

There were plenty of cameras about, so no doubt they will appear on Moulton's website.

If your not involved in WF, thinking your playing days were over, or you just fancy having ago.

Then just do it

Bye for now.

Regards John
