Corby v Rothwell.

The Steelmen followed up their relative success Thursday day with another victory over local rivals Rothwell.
The game was played over 3 periods, with the 1st being very tight ending 0-0.
Corby found some form storming into a 3-0 lead.
Rothwells ever improving team never dropped their heads and pulled a couple of goals back.
Corby scored a 4th & Rothwell got a 3rd, with the final score 4-3 in Corby's favour.
It was a good show from Rothwell as they had no subs, with Corby Rotating with 4.
The Steelmen have now won 2 out of the 3 friendlies against Rothwell & also beat them in the tournament.
It was a good run out by both sides

 Hi

On the 15/08/2021 Corby Town Football Club heeld the 1st of what is to be an annual event, Walking Football Tournament.

The "Robin Webster Memorial" event was played at Corby's home ground "Steel Park. The trophies were donated by Robin's family

10 mens teams & 5 ladies teams played in qualifying rounds, 15 minutes per game, followed by 2 semi finals & the finals, which were 2 ten minute halves.
The men's section was divided into 2 leagues of 5, with the top 2 going on to the finals, each team playing 5 games, 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw & 0 for a lose.
The day was perfect in every way, weather, turnout & an array of talent from the elder statemen/women of football.

Northampton Mens Finally won the day in the men's section.

Market Harbrough Hornets runners up

Cheshunt Ladies took the Honours, in the ladies section.

With Northampton ladies runners up.

Corby Town's newly formed (Sept, 2020) Walking football also had a great day.

Back row left to right: Alan Revie, manager Ray Shillito, Derek, Mick Veal, Ian Carr, George Turner, John Cowie
Front Row: James Hay, Sean, manager P. Bird, Steve Clarke, Ian
In the qualifying rounds they won their 1st 3 games, drew the 4th, giving themselves enough points to qualify for the semi's, with 1 game to spare which they lost.
A tough game followed, against the very experienced Harbro' Hornets, which the Steelmen found themselves short of the form they showed in the qualifiers, losing 3-0 to the Hornets.
However their 1st competition has to be considered a success played 6, won 3, drawn 1, lost 2.
                                                                Well done lads.
Well done to all those that played,
Special thanks to the Steelmen managers, Ray Shillito & P Bird,Chairman Steve Noble & all those behind the scenes that made it a special day.
A big thank you to Robin Websters Family
