September saw the start of the Northants fa Walking football league. It comprises of 2 leagues, over 50's & 65's, at the moment there are 5 teams in each league.
Corby town fc have a team in the over 65's.
Matchday 1, saw Corby finishing top, after 3 draws & 1 win.
Matchday 2, Corby matched day 1 again with 3 draws & 1 win.
CTFC remain top of their league by 3 points.
Matchday 3 will be in November, then there will be a break, with Matchday's 4,5,& 6 resuming in Feb, March & April.
The venue is Redwell Leisure Centre in Wellingboro.
So far the league has been well run, so congrats to all organisers. The venue is excellant with a good astro turf surface.
The games have been played & ref'd in a good spirit.
The synics would (rightly) say, there could be less running.
