Desborough v Corby Town fc

 Hi.

CTFC's walking football squads new year, kicked off, with a 3 - 4 away victory over local rivals Desborough. As a friendly it was of mixed age groups of 50+, oldest was 77 brilliant!

Corby got off to a good start with new boy Harry Buchanan scoring.

Dessy soon equalised with quick feet from Mick Veal.

A second from Desborough put them in the lead.

2 goals for Corby followed

Alan Revie with one.

Desborough then equalised, making it 3-3.

With about 5 mins left

Corby's right back sent a thunderous shot goalwards

Which dessy's keeper  Pete Williams kept out well, only for Corby's John Cowie

(yes me) to rifle it home on the spin, between Williams and the upright.

As the order of the goals suggests, it was a finely balanced game, by and large played in the spirit of the game.

There is some footage on my youtube channel for viewing.

Well done all, thanks to Desborough, for their hospitality, & Ray Shillito for doing the hardest job of the day , being the ref.

Stay safe.
