An insight to walking football

 Hi

Last night saw the start of a new chapter in the history of Corby Town Football Club, the first official CTFC Walking Football  friendly, played against Rothwell, at Mountsaye Academy Rothwell.

The Corby team.
Back row left to right John Cowie, Derek, Mick Veazy, Lee, Martin Spencer.
Front row Left to right Steve Noble (Corby town chairman), Pete Bird (player manager) James Hay, Ray Beeby,
It was a hard fought game which was hampered by a strong wind, which affected both sides ability to play the kind of football they are capable of. James Hay opened the scoring after an earlier penalty miss which was well saved by the Rothwell keeper. The control of the game went from side to side. Both Mick & Ray had spells in goal making good saves in order to keep Corby in front. Eventually Derek got a second goal with Corby holding on and winning 0-2.
So played one won one.
Well done to the Rothwell team and thanks for the game
