An insight to walking football

Wednesday, January 6, 2021

 Hi Good afternoon.

Well just as we were gearing up to re start our WF session's, bang we are back in lockdown.

Needs must though, this virus is not going away easily.

Govt's, around the world are equally, finding it hard to deal with, we have to be patient and hope the vaccines are the answer.

If you have any doubts, or anger, may I suggest you direct them to the real villain of the pandemic.

On a lighter note 2020 Walking football run by Corby Borough Council saw out the year with it's final session on Tuesday 22nd December.

There were enough diehards turned out in order to play 5 a side, fittingly a good session was enjoyed with it ending in a draw. An end of year penalty shoot out was held, each player taking 2 penalties each, the end result was still a draw.

Thanks to Craig & Meghan who supervise the sessions on behalf of Corby Council

Desborough Walking Football saw out the year on Friday 18th December, with a whopping 20 player turn out.
Thanks goes to the three founder members Rob Raynes, John Shelton & Paul Steadman for supervising the sessions & Mathew Yates of Kettering Council.
On a sad note John Shelton was unable to attend, John fractured his ankle the week before in a freak accident, under no pressure he stood on the ball to control it and rolled his ankle, OUCH!
We all wish John a speedy recovery.
Also Kevin Smith was absent, he has been involved in the vaccination programme, so well done Kev & thankyou.
Well that's it, all up to date see you soon hopefully
Stay Safe
