Hi all
Last Sunday 25th Feb 2024 saw the start of the Northamptonshire Walking Football League (NWFL), for the over 50's and 65's divisions spring sessions. In association with the Northants FA.
This years teams saw an increase in teams, as taking part gains more interest.
It turned out to be a great day, with blue skies & some skill full displays.

Due to playing commitments content is limited.
As usual the most contentious issue is "running".
Some believe it is down to the Referee to control, I think the issue is a collective one, where the association, clubs, coaches, players & ref's should share the responsibility to ensure that the game lives up to it's name & intention. To play football at a walking pace to suit the older generation, those recovering from injury & most of all the "safety" of fellow players.

NWFL has got off to a great start, there is a face book group Northamptonshire Walking Football League, where news & views can be seen, please keep views to walking football & not general chit chat.
There is also a Newsletter that is issued periodically, in particularly at end of season. It shows League & Golden boot winners etc.
So matchday 1 complete. Matchday 2 for this division is scheduled for Sunday 23rd March. Let's hope the standards are maintained..... but hey guys slow down
