An insight to walking football

 Hi

Well finally some Walking Football.

14/08/2020 Today saw the restart of Walking Football at Desborough Leisure Centre. What a relief it was to see so many old faces (no pun intended) and a few younger ones (who find it easier to play against the oldies) LOL.

The guys arrived in dribs and drabs we all signed the required paperwork and had our temperatures taken. A little talk was given by the Kettering Council officials Matt & Tim. 20 Players in all turned up a good turn out, so it was down to business. We split into four teams of 5, the pitch was divided into two, allowing 2 games to be played at once. We were eased into it with 5 minute games then up to 10 minutes, finishing the session off with a 5 minute game.
Everyone enjoyed it and no one had lost their competitiveness during lockdown.

Apologies to there being no videos of the games, this was due to the fact that I was always playing, maybe next time.
As good as today was, we must not forget why it had to be this way and our thoughts go out to all those that lost someone due to the covid19.
