An insight to walking football

Friday, February 8, 2019

Hello again
January 27th 2019 Corby Walking Football team played it's first official game, against a team from Market Harbrough.
The game was arranged and refereed by Megan Buchanan.

Harbro are an experienced team and proved a tough initiation into competitive walking football.
Despite that Corby took an early lead via a penalty and stayed in front for a long period of the game, leading 5-3 at one stage. Harbro though were not dispirated and encouraged by a superb display from their keeper, pulled it round to 6-7 with five minutes to go.
Corby managed an equaliser 7-7, only for Harbro to score the winner 7-8 in the dying seconds of the game.
The game was played in 3, 30 minute halves, just goes to show the level of fitness that can be achieved.
Thankyou to Harbro for the game.
Thankyou to Meg.
Thankyou to Corby Town Football Club for donating one of their football strips, the green & black
